Details

Today we will be helping Simon Melville with some path work on Burghclere and Newtown Commons. We will be barrowing and spreading a mixture of clay, stones and sand on paths that tend to be very muddy when wet. Turn left in front of the Swan Inn and head up the hill towards Burghclere. After about half a mile, go past the entrance to the Jonathan Hill car park. Drive for about half a mile before turning left at Adbury Holt. Continue along Adbury Holt till you come to a grass track on the left hand side of the road. Follow the track which soon bends right, drive under the power lines and park on the Common at What3words:///month.invisible.tooth. Please note there is currently no parking at the Adbury Holt triangle as it is being used for heavy machinery, so if you prefer not to drive onto the Common, you could park at Jonathan Hill and walk across.

Please remember to bring gloves, hand sanitiser and a drink.
